A payment failure may occur for various reasons, including internet issues, incorrect payment details, expired card information, etc. Beyond the more generic issues, you may encounter errors for either one of the two reasons.

3D Security related errors
Both of these errors can be attributed to 3D Secure Verification System. 3D Secure is an additional layer of security for online transactions designed as a fraud prevention method by validating your transaction via your password on the bank authentication page. Read more about it here. In case of a 3D Secure verification failure, your card will not be charged.
What to do in case of 3D secure verification failure
If you are unable to authenticate with 3D Secure, it may be due to an unstable connection or an incorrect password. Please attempt the payment again. Ensure you are entering the correct authentication password or OTP.
If your bank does not support or rejects 3DS, kindly contact your bank or provide an alternate payment method.
Other issues
India-based Customers
If you are an India-based customer whose payments didn’t go through despite having sufficient funds and correct payment details, it might be due to the Reserve Bank of India’s revised payment processing guidelines on international transactions. This has led to many Indian credit and debit card users being unable to transact on our website. You may have the same issue when using PayPal backed by Indian credit or debit card.

unsupported_card | Your account is not set up to authenticate the customer’s provided card brand with 3D Secure | Provide a different payment method |
unsupported_account_type | Your merchant account is not set up to accept this card type. Only credit and debit cards can be accepted | Provide a different payment method |
unsupported_three_d_secure_version | Your merchant account is not set up to use the 3D Secure version requested | Provide a different payment method |
authentication_unavailable | The card network is unavailable to verify the card using 3D Secure | Kindly retry the verification |
authenticate_error | An error occurred during authentication | Your payment was rejected, and you should attempt the verification again or use another card |
authenticate_failed | An error due to an incorrect password or a time out occurred | Your payment was rejected, and you should attempt the verification again or use another card |
authenticate_signature_verification_failed | An error in the lookup | Your payment was rejected, and you should attempt the verification again or use another card |
authenticate_unable_to_authenticate | Card-issuing bank caused the 3D Secure authentication to fail | Your payment was rejected, and you should attempt the verification again or use another card |
lookup_enrolled | This may happen due to the interruption of 3D secure validation | Your payment was rejected, and you should attempt the verification again or use another card |
